SharkDude1, um you show your ignorance in multiple ways. The Special Olympics is for people with intellectual disabilities. I think you mean the Paralympics, which will happen in London this year after the Olympic games end. These world class athletes can likely and literally run circles around you. Kudos to Pistorius for choosing to show that he can compete on any field.

Comment:
Why is that? He seems to start with an handicap (beyond the amputation) i.e. 90% of the energy return versus 200% . So, it seems to me that we should say kudos to him no? And here of course rest the case (if the prosthetic gives you an advantage over normal body function, like the the million $ man, then we need to say stop!).

Wow I've never seen so much biased comments I say fair play and I wish him the very best to say he has an advantage is frankly rubbish does he not train equally as hard as any other athlete.

Comment:
I respect his accomplishments and rigorous training methods. I admire his will and fortitude but I think prosthetics should not be allowed in the Olympics. The man is a dynamo and obviously can run but say he was to actually beat a Usain Bolt would you say we was not placed at an advantage?
