Title:  Unfortunately, ...
Comment:  Unfortunately, established car makers are not taking the initiative to make a practical EV for the masses, and Tesla is a new company and needs time and a lot (I mean, a shit ton) of money to establish the needed infrastructure to match the established car makers, and then mass produce the car we all can afford and use practically (I mean, compare Tesla's current capacity of 20,000 cars per year, to GM's millions per year). It just takes time to get there.

Title:  I totally agree ...
Comment:  I totally agree with you, and Elon Musk agrees with you too. He made it clear in several interviews that Tesla's final goal is to make an economical (around $25K), mass produced, 4-door car with more range than gasoline cars and a huge supercharger network (like gas stations) in place. Tesla started off with an expensive roadster, then moved down to a cheaper sedan & an SUV, and once their manufacturing plant in CA expands enough, will be able to mass produce the car Tesla really wants to make.

Title:  OK, that might be ...
Comment:  OK, that might be true for a "full size" car. I am talking about a street legal vehicle like you see in many European cities to ferry tourist around. For urban people who need to go to an office a few miles away and for daily trips to the super market it would be enough. Perhaps we need to re-think what is street legal, and make exceptions for "electric cars". Why not?

Title:  Ahem. ELon Musk, ...
Comment:  Ahem. ELon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, draws a salary of $33,000 per year. Show me one auto manufacturer who's CEO makes less than a Million! I dare you to!

Title:  Add safety ...
Comment:  Add safety features and other mandated technologies to make a golf cart street legal, and then expand it to seat 5 passengers, with 2 trunks amounting to 32 cubic feet, and then make it look sexy with attractive features like luxury interiors, glass roof, premium audio, performance suspension and wheels, blah blah blah blah... All said and done, the new golf cart will weight 5000 lbs, and the range now drops from 100km to 2km. See the problem?

Title:  A golf cart with ...
Comment:  A golf cart with two 12v car batteries can go 100 Km. why is this so hard for Auto makers to improve on? Tesla is kick ass!

Title:  Well by the time we ...
Comment:  Well by the time we run out of oil, electric car technology can progress to something more convenient and available. But gas powered technology also progresses keeping it more appealing than a stupid electric car. So we won't run out of oil anytime soon my friend. Keep dreaming of your electric car.

Title:  You guys are ...
Comment:  You guys are running out of oil, though. Your remaining reserves are small and at present consumption they will be exhausted in a few of decades. This is peak oil. The grid is very well equipped to adapt to higher demand. Actually, the grid is easier to adapt to higher usage than the oil supply chain. It would require updating a number of grid stations and some clever math, but requires less man hours. Also power plants convert fossil fuels to electricity FAR more efficiently.Keep drilling.

Title:  Lith-ion batteries ...
Comment:  Lith-ion batteries are recyclable, hydrogen fuel is considered more dangerous than gasoline. It's true the charge time, and the cost of an electric vehicle are still too high for the average family. However consider the desperate pleas of companies WANTING to undertake more R & D. I anticipate that we will have much improvements in these areas. You cannot ignore the fact that our world Is demanding this form of technology, and you especially cannot ignore the smoke blowing out your cars tail

Title:  If everyone had an ...
Comment:  If everyone had an electric car, plugged it in, it would overload the electrical grid and it would collapse. Stupid stupid stupid. Just control the stupid oil, drill in our own country and give us our own oil instead of sending it overseas. Money hungry people will not let this happen.
